Faculty Position Jobs in Arizona

ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation (MLFC) and the Division for Advancing Educator Preparation invites applications to establish a pool for Faculty Associates for the 2026-2027 academic year. Successful candidates(s) will teach in-person Physical Activity courses, prepare course materials, evaluate student work, and assist students. Faculty Associate positions are one semester (7.5 or 15 weeks), non-benefits-eligible, and fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE. The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Individuals hired as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.

This recruitment is to establish a part-time hiring pool for temporary and semester appointments. Applications are considered for the current year only. Applicants who are not hired are encouraged to reapply for the next posting.

Essential Duties: The position serves as a lead instructor and includes teaching undergraduate level activity-based courses; demonstrated knowledge of current philosophies, practices, and research in the activity’s subtopic; instructing activity-based courses in areas that match the courses inherent location such as an on campus outside field, basketball court, indoor classroom or the like.

This position is located on the Tempe campus in Tempe, Arizona and requires physical presence at that location. Working from another location requires additional approvals, which are not guaranteed.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Education or related field at the time of appointment depending on the subtopic of the course(s)
• Experience developing and administering at least two professional development or instructional activities related to activity-based subtopics such as wellness, nutrition, sport, or lifetime activities such as mind and body (yoga, Pilates), fitness (TRX, strength training, aerobic modalities), hiking, etc.

Desired Qualifications:

• Doctoral Degree in Education, or related field at the time of appointment depending on the subtopic of the course(s)
• At least one year of related experience/ education specific to the subtopic such as wellness, nutrition, sport, or lifetime activities
• At least one experience working collaboratively in a team environment
• At least one semester experience using course management systems such as Canvas or Blackboard
