At Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Legal Operations Project Manager to join our legal team to help modernize how Legal operates through both best-in-class legal operations practices and hands-on use of AI. By combining traditional legal ops experience with familiarity with AI tools and automation platforms, you will help turn operational problems into scalable, AI-enabled solutions. You will partner closely with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver on the Legal Ops roadmap and help ensure that Legal’s tooling, data, and processes support Harvey’s rapid growth. It is a unique opportunity to be a key contributor to an AI-native legal operations function inside a company that is itself defining the future of AI for legal work.
What You'll Do
Manage end-to-end legal operations projects, including gathering requirements, designing and improving workflows, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders and managing implementation and iteration for areas such as intake, matter management, advice requests and policy changes
Translate priorities and direction into concrete project plans, timelines and execution steps, serving as the connective tissue between strategy and day-to-day delivery
Support AI enablement across Legal, including identifying use cases, evaluating and piloting AI tools (including Harvey), and helping with training and adoption efforts
Contribute to building and maintain legal metrics, dashboards and operational reporting across workload, turnaround times, risk patterns and operational performance
Support the evaluation, implementation, administration and continuous improvement of the legal technology stack and vendor relationships across knowledge management, matter tracking, e-billing and spend management, document management and contract-related tooling
Develop and maintain legal knowledge assets, including templates, playbooks, FAQs, self-service resources and internal documentation
Support routine operational, administrative, systems and data work as priorities evolve
What You Have
3 to 6 years of experience in an operations or project management role, with responsibility for running and improving cross-functional systems, processes or programs; experience may come from legal operations, business operations, systems operations or a related function
Meaningful experience working in or closely with an in-house legal team, with a practical understanding of how Legal supports the business
A builder’s mindset: comfortable owning many moving pieces at once and energized by creating structure in a function that is still taking shape, rather than optimizing an established playbook
Experience contributing to the design and implementation of processes, systems and programs for Legal or other G&A functions, from requirements gathering through rollout and iteration
Comfortable working with both Legal and technical teams, helping turn business needs into practical process and system requirements, with experience or strong interest in applying AI tools in a legal or professional services setting
Comfortable operating with general guidance, seeking direction on new or unfamiliar issues, and balancing competing priorities and sustaining momentum in a globally distributed organization
Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills, with familiarity across legal technology (e.g. matter management, knowledge management, ticketing and document repositories) and experience building and interpreting metrics
Bonus Points
Hands-on experience with CLM or contracting systems
Practical experience building or deploying AI-driven workflows, with familiarity with agentic behavior, orchestration, prompt engineering, performance metrics and safety protocols
Experience helping design AI guidance, guardrails, or adoption programs for a legal or professional services team
Compensation
$99,200 - $148,800 USD

Legal Operations Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a legal operations manager in New York?
Most legal operations managers in New York enter through a combination of a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or legal studies and several years in a law firm, corporate legal department, or compliance function. No state-issued license is required for the role itself, but many New York employers favor candidates with project management credentials such as a PMP or with demonstrated experience on legal technology platforms. Starting as a legal operations analyst or paralegal administrator at a large Manhattan firm or financial institution is the most common path upward.
Which companies hire legal operations managers in New York?
Employers hiring legal operations managers in New York right now include White & Case Llp, DDN, and Lyft, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New York's concentration of global bank headquarters, insurance carriers, and AmLaw 100 firms means demand is spread across both in-house corporate legal teams and large law firm business operations groups.
Which New York cities have the most legal operations manager jobs?
The cities with the most legal operations manager openings in New York are New York and Rochester. Manhattan dominates because of its density of major corporate headquarters, global financial institutions, and large law firms, while suburban markets like White Plains attract demand from regional corporate legal departments relocating or expanding outside the city core.
Are there remote legal operations manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most legal roles. About 71% of legal operations manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based and technology-driven nature of the work. The functions most commonly performed remotely include vendor management, e-billing oversight, and legal technology administration, while roles with a heavy stakeholder-facing or project coordination component tend to require at least partial on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a legal operations manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a legal operations analyst or paralegal administrator role inside a large Manhattan law firm or in-house legal department at a financial institution, where structured training is more common than at smaller employers. Many New York-based firms and corporations hire through their legal support or business services tracks for candidates coming from adjacent roles such as project coordinator, contracts administrator, or compliance analyst. Earning a project management credential or completing a legal technology certification strengthens an application significantly for candidates without direct operations experience.
Where can I find and apply to legal operations manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to legal operations manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Manhattan, Brooklyn, White Plains, and the broader New York market. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and target employers, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
