Market Development Manager Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a market development manager in Wisconsin?
Most market development manager roles in Wisconsin require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a closely related field, though some employers in manufacturing or agricultural sectors value industry experience equally. Wisconsin does not require a state-issued license for this role. Candidates typically build toward the position through two to four years in sales, account management, or marketing analyst roles, then move into market development. Certifications such as the American Marketing Association's Professional Certified Marketer designation can strengthen applications at larger Wisconsin employers.
How much do market development managers make in Wisconsin?
Market development managers in Wisconsin earn a median of about $133,600 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $83,990 for the lowest 10% to over $211,990 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire market development managers in Wisconsin?
Employers hiring market development managers in Wisconsin right now include Valor Technical Cleaning, Goex, and Ascension, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Wisconsin's deep roots in manufacturing, food production, and healthcare supply chain mean market development roles often focus on industrial or B2B channels rather than direct consumer markets.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most market development manager jobs?
Milwaukee, Wausau, and Madison lead Wisconsin for market development manager openings. Milwaukee drives the largest share of listings because of its dense concentration of manufacturing headquarters, financial services firms, and regional distribution operations, while Madison's growing technology and healthcare sectors fuel demand, and Green Bay's food processing and packaging industry anchors consistent hiring in that corridor.
Are there remote market development manager jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, and they are more available than in many fields, since the core work of market research, account strategy, and partner communication translates well to remote settings. About 50% of market development manager openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting employer flexibility introduced across business development functions. The portions of the role most commonly offered remotely include market analysis, reporting, and internal planning, while territory visits and distributor meetings typically remain in person.
How can I get hired as a market development manager in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative or marketing coordinator role at a Wisconsin manufacturer or distributor, then building toward market development from within. Large Wisconsin employers such as Rockwell Automation and Briggs and Stratton have historically run structured rotational or associate programs that cycle early-career candidates through sales, product, and market functions. A portfolio demonstrating market research, competitive analysis, or a documented channel strategy project makes candidates stand out when formal experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to market development manager jobs in Wisconsin?
You can find and apply to market development manager jobs in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, and other Wisconsin markets. Find roles that fit your experience and specialization and apply directly to each one.
