Marketing Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing professional in Vermont?
Marketing is not a licensed profession in Vermont, so there is no state board or required credential to practice. Most Vermont employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field. Building a portfolio of campaign work, earning widely recognized certifications such as Google Analytics or HubSpot Content Marketing, and gaining experience through internships at Vermont companies or nonprofits are the most reliable paths to full-time roles.
Which companies hire marketing professionals in Vermont?
Vermont marketing roles are posted by BURTON, LONDONmiddlebury, and Middlebury College and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's mix of consumer brands, healthcare institutions, higher education, and energy companies means marketing openings appear across a broader range of industries than the state's size might suggest.
Which Vermont cities have the most marketing jobs?
Burlington, Vermont, and Winooski account for the largest concentration of marketing openings in Vermont. Burlington drives the most volume as the state's commercial and cultural hub, home to its largest employers in healthcare, technology, and consumer goods, while Montpelier and South Burlington generate steady openings through state government agencies, utilities, and regional business headquarters clustered in those areas.
Are there remote marketing jobs in Vermont?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 33% of marketing openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves digital tools and written output rather than on-site presence. Content creation, SEO, email marketing, and paid media management roles tend to appear most often in remote or flexible formats.
How can I get hired as a marketing professional in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an internship or coordinator role at one of Vermont's larger institutional employers. The University of Vermont, UVM Health Network, and Green Mountain Power each hire marketing interns and entry-level coordinators who support campaigns and content. Applying for social media coordinator, marketing assistant, or communications associate roles at Vermont nonprofits and outdoor brands also opens doors. A portfolio showing even a few real or spec campaigns, combined with a Google Analytics or HubSpot certification, gives candidates a clear edge over those with no credentials.
Where can I find and apply to marketing jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to marketing jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
