Marketing Specialist Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing specialist in Vermont?
Marketing specialist roles in Vermont do not require a state-issued license or certification. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field. Vermont's larger hiring sectors, including healthcare systems, higher education institutions, and regional consumer brands, also value candidates who hold a Google Analytics certification or a HubSpot Content Marketing credential, both widely recognized as practical differentiators in the Vermont market.
How much do marketing specialists make in Vermont?
Marketing specialists in Vermont earn a median of about $74,880 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,700 for the lowest 10% to over $110,230 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing specialists in Vermont?
Vermont marketing specialist roles are posted by CVS Health, Vail Resorts, and Fuse Marketing and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's blend of anchor institutions, regional utilities, and specialty consumer brands means openings appear across a range of industries rather than clustering in a single sector.
Which Vermont cities have the most marketing specialist jobs?
Vermont, Colchester, and Newport account for the most marketing specialist openings in Vermont. Burlington drives the largest share as the state's commercial hub, home to the University of Vermont, major healthcare employers, and a concentrated tech and consumer products scene, while Montpelier's openings reflect state government agencies and nonprofits headquartered there, and South Burlington benefits from proximity to Burlington's employer base.
Are there remote marketing specialist jobs in Vermont?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 40% of marketing specialist openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how naturally the work translates to a distributed setup. Content strategy, email marketing, and digital analytics roles are the most frequently offered remotely, while brand events and community marketing positions more often require an in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a marketing specialist in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a coordinator or marketing assistant role at one of Vermont's healthcare systems, universities, or regional nonprofits, which regularly hire candidates who are early in their careers. The University of Vermont and Vermont State University both run internship programs that convert to full-time roles. Building a portfolio of real work, whether from a campus organization, a local nonprofit, or freelance projects for Vermont small businesses, carries more weight with Vermont employers than certifications alone.
Where can I find and apply to marketing specialist jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to marketing specialist jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
