Sales Business Development Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales business development in Vermont?
Most Vermont employers require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, though some accept equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. Vermont does not issue a state-specific license for sales business development roles outside of regulated industries such as insurance, where the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation requires a producer license. Building a record of quota attainment and completing a recognized sales methodology training program strengthens a candidacy considerably.
How much do sales business developments make in Vermont?
Sales business developments in Vermont earn a median of about $76,840 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,620 for the lowest 10% to over $127,400 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales business developments in Vermont?
Employers hiring sales business developments in Vermont right now include CVS Health, GlobalFoundries, and Exyte, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's technology, healthcare, and financial services sectors are the most consistent sources of open sales business development roles across the state.
Which Vermont cities have the most sales business development jobs?
Montpelier, Essex Junction, and Vermont are the Vermont cities with the most sales business development openings. Burlington drives the largest share of demand as Vermont's commercial center, home to major employers in technology, healthcare, and financial services, while South Burlington and Montpelier contribute openings tied to corporate headquarters, state government contractors, and regional office expansions.
Are there remote sales business development jobs in Vermont?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 36% of sales business development openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how naturally the role translates to distributed work. Outbound prospecting, virtual demos, and pipeline management are the functions most commonly performed fully remote, while strategic account work and enterprise deals often require periodic in-person meetings.
How can I get hired as a sales business development in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or business development associate role, which many Vermont employers use as a structured starting point. Companies like GlobalFoundries and UVM Health Network periodically recruit candidates from new-graduate pipelines at the University of Vermont and Champlain College. Applying for inside sales or account coordinator positions, building familiarity with a CRM platform, and completing a sales certification such as HubSpot Sales Software training each give candidates a measurable edge in Vermont hiring conversations.
Where can I find and apply to sales business development jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to sales business development jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings. Search the roles that match your experience and target industry, then apply directly to whichever ones fit your background and goals.
