Sales Account Executive Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales account executive in Vermont?
Most Vermont employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a closely related field, though demonstrated sales results can substitute for a specific major. Vermont does not require a state-issued license for general sales account executive roles. The most direct path is an entry-level sales development or inside sales position at a Burlington-area technology company or a statewide healthcare organization, building toward an account executive role through measurable quota attainment.
How much do sales account executives make in Vermont?
Sales account executives in Vermont earn a median of about $76,840 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,620 for the lowest 10% to over $127,400 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales account executives in Vermont?
Employers hiring sales account executives in Vermont right now include Toast, State of Vermont, and LPI, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's mix of technology firms, healthcare networks, and specialty manufacturers creates demand for account executives who can sell complex solutions to both enterprise and mid-market clients.
Which Vermont cities have the most sales account executive jobs?
Burlington, Vermont, and Montpelier have the most sales account executive openings in Vermont. Burlington anchors the majority of postings because it hosts the state's largest concentration of technology companies, financial services firms, and healthcare employers, while smaller markets like Montpelier and Rutland reflect state government contractors and regional manufacturing and distribution operations that also carry dedicated sales teams.
Are there remote sales account executive jobs in Vermont?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 38% of sales account executive openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and phone-driven nature of much account executive work. Roles focused on inside sales, SaaS renewals, and national account management are the most likely to be fully remote, while field sales positions covering Vermont territory typically require regular in-person client visits.
How can I get hired as a sales account executive in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or business development representative role at a Burlington-area technology or healthcare technology company, where structured coaching and clear promotion timelines are common. Employers like IBM and regional SaaS firms regularly hire recent graduates into SDR programs that feed directly into account executive pipelines. A Salesforce certification or demonstrated experience with a CRM tool strengthens a candidate's profile considerably and is frequently preferred even at the entry level.
Where can I find and apply to sales account executive jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to sales account executive jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and territory preferences, and apply directly to each posting that fits your background.
