OB/GYN Physician Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ob/gyn physician in Wisconsin?
To become an ob/gyn physician in Wisconsin, you must earn a medical degree, complete an accredited four-year OB/GYN residency, pass the USMLE steps, and obtain a medical license through the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board. The Board issues licenses to MD and DO graduates who meet its examination and training requirements. Board certification through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology is not required by the state but is expected by virtually all Wisconsin employers.
How much do OB/GYN physicians make in Wisconsin?
OB/GYN physicians in Wisconsin earn a median of about $304,990 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $148,720 for the lowest 10% to over $419,420 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ob/gyn physicians in Wisconsin?
Employers hiring ob/gyn physicians in Wisconsin right now include SSM Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Large integrated health systems dominate hiring in Wisconsin, with most positions tied to employed-physician models rather than independent practice.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most ob/gyn physician jobs?
Monroe, Baraboo, and Madison have the most ob/gyn physician openings in Wisconsin. Milwaukee leads because of the concentration of major health systems like Froedtert Health and Advocate Aurora Health, Madison follows due to UW Health's academic medical center, and Green Bay reflects both a large regional population and the presence of HSHS and Bellin Health networks anchoring physician hiring across northeastern Wisconsin.
Are there remote ob/gyn physician jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of ob/gyn physician openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how hands-on the specialty is by nature. The roles most likely to have a remote component are telemedicine gynecology consultations and administrative or medical director positions that do not require direct patient care.
How can I get hired as a ob/gyn physician in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to employed-physician programs at large Wisconsin health systems immediately after residency. UW Health and Froedtert Health both recruit new attending physicians through their GME pipelines and post new-grad-friendly openings. Candidates without a full independent practice history should highlight residency volume, fellowship training if applicable, and proficiency in high-demand procedures. Completing a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine or urogynecology significantly strengthens a new physician's candidacy at Wisconsin academic centers.
Where can I find and apply to ob/gyn physician jobs in Wisconsin?
You can find and apply to ob/gyn physician jobs in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, which lists current Wisconsin openings. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your specialty and preferred location, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
