Working under the guidance of team members and subject matter experts, you will help advance digital collaboration and AI adoption across Medical Writing, using Alexion-approved AI tools and Microsoft collaboration platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting selected projects under the guidance of team members and subject matter experts, including:
- Digital collaboration: developing reusable Microsoft Loop / Teams templates, piloting meeting practices, and creating a meeting-to-artifact playbook and decision/action tracker; summarizing pilot feedback.
- AI adoption and enablement: collecting user feedback and priority use cases and developing a focused prompt starter pack; supporting AI tools and contributing to an adoption playbook reviewed by MW subject matter experts.
- Developing and refining prompts to support fit-for-purpose GenAI outputs using approved AI tools and documenting test results for review by MW subject matter experts.
- Working collaboratively with MW Ops and cross-functional teams to continuously improve processes.
- Creating brief training materials or communications to support adoption of the templates and prompt starter pack developed during the internship.
- Attending and actively participating in MW Ops and Innovation Project team meetings.
- Providing an end-of-internship summary presentation and handing over completed project deliverables, findings, and recommendations to the MW Ops team.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled full-time in a PhD program in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Data Science, Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field.
- Experience with GenAI tools and prompt development is required. Working during the internship will use Alexion-approved AI tools.
- Experience with Microsoft programs including Copilot, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and Loop is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint are desirable.
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Ability to organize and analyze project information, user feedback, process observations, and testing results, and clearly communicate findings to team members and subject matter experts.
- Ability to conduct thorough and accurate research, have logical organizational skills, and clear, readable writing.
- Ability and desire to learn new techniques and best practices.
- Good interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- US Work Authorization is required at time of application. Applicants must have work authorization that does not require future sponsorship.
- This role will not be granted OPT support.
- Ability to report on site to New Haven, CT.
- This role will not provide relocation assistance.
- Hourly rate: $48 per hour.
