Outside Sales Representative Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a outside sales representative in Oklahoma?
Most outside sales representative positions in Oklahoma do not require a state-issued license, but certain specialties do carry credentialing expectations. Pharmaceutical and medical device sales often require manufacturer or industry certifications, while insurance-related sales roles require an Oklahoma insurance producer license issued through the Oklahoma Insurance Department. Most employers seek a bachelor's degree and some prior sales or customer-facing experience, though strong candidates from adjacent fields like logistics, agriculture, or oilfield services transition in regularly.
How much do outside sales representatives make in Oklahoma?
Outside sales representatives in Oklahoma earn a median of about $62,160 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $29,240 for the lowest 10% to over $134,360 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire outside sales representatives in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma outside sales representative roles are posted by Andrew Meier, Spectrum, and Hibu and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oklahoma's concentration of energy, agriculture, and distribution companies means outside sales teams here tend to be large and turnover-driven, keeping openings fairly consistent throughout the year.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most outside sales representative jobs?
Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Oklahoma have the most outside sales representative openings in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City dominates volume as the state's commercial and corporate headquarters hub, Tulsa draws heavily from its manufacturing and energy services sector, and smaller markets like Edmond and Norman generate openings through regional distribution operations and healthcare services firms based in the metro fringe.
Are there remote outside sales representative jobs in Oklahoma?
Yes, but they're rare. Outside sales by definition involves in-person client visits and territory coverage, so fully remote roles are uncommon. About 56% of outside sales representative openings tied to Oklahoma are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to involve inside-to-outside hybrid structures or account management roles where a portion of client contact happens by phone or video.
How can I get hired as a outside sales representative in Oklahoma with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Oklahoma is through a sales development or inside sales role at a distribution or energy services company, then transitioning to an outside territory once you have demonstrated results. Companies like Sysco and Fastenal run structured sales training programs designed for candidates without prior field experience. Earning an industry-recognized credential in your target vertical, such as an agricultural products certification or a manufacturer's sales training completion, significantly strengthens an application at larger Oklahoma employers.
Where can I find and apply to outside sales representative jobs in Oklahoma?
