Massachusetts does not require a state-issued license for this position. Employers in Boston and Cambridge typically expect candidates to show measurable campaign results, platform certifications from Google or Meta, and familiarity with the analytics stack common in the local tech and biotech sectors.
How much do performance marketing managers make in Massachusetts?
Performance marketing managers in Massachusetts earn a median of about $212,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $122,350 for the lowest 10% to over $310,510 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire performance marketing managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring performance marketing managers in Massachusetts right now include Whoop, SharkNinja, and Bevi, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's dense concentration of technology, financial services, and life sciences companies means demand for performance marketing talent remains consistent well beyond the Boston core.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most performance marketing manager jobs?

Boston drives the bulk of listings thanks to its concentration of technology firms, financial institutions, and e-commerce brands, while Cambridge and Waltham add significant volume through their biotech and software company clusters, which maintain in-house growth and acquisition marketing teams year-round.

How can I get hired as a performance marketing manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a digital marketing coordinator, paid media specialist, or marketing analyst, roles that large Massachusetts employers like HubSpot, Wayfair, and major Boston-area financial services firms hire at the associate level. Building a portfolio of measurable results, earning Google Ads or Meta Blueprint certifications, and gaining exposure to marketing analytics tools common in the Boston tech ecosystem will strengthen your candidacy.
