Role Description
The Animal Welfare Specialist and Program Coordinator executes the day-to-day coordination, documentation, and analytics that enable strong IACUC operations, serves as point of contact for all global animal welfare programs and supports consistent application globally. This role owns the operational layer of the internal event tracking platform—performing routine trending and pattern detection, maintaining dashboards and recurring reports, flagging outliers and repeat risk drivers to the Head of Global Animal Welfare Risk Management, and collaborates with IT and data teams to maintain, test, and implement corrective actions for the platform. The Coordinator also provides administrative and logistical support to the Institutional Official (IO) and Animal Welfare Board (AWB), ensuring meeting logistics, documentation, and follow-up actions are managed efficiently.

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in animal science, biology, life sciences, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- CPIA certification or active pursuit of certification preferred.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in a laboratory animal care, IACUC operations, or research compliance environment.
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, dashboard development, or metrics reporting, preferably in a research or GxP context.
- Experience with IACUC management systems, animal welfare tracking platforms, or equivalent systems.
- Prior experience providing administrative support to committees or governance bodies preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills: ability to detect meaningful patterns in event data and communicate findings clearly to leadership.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and documentation quality.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
- Excellent organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Collaborative, service-oriented approach with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions
This is a site-based position. Limited travel to research sites may be required, not to exceed 10% over the course of a year. Occasional interactions within a research environment are expected.
