Project Coordinator Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project coordinator in Utah?
Most Utah employers expect at least an associate degree in business administration, construction management, or a related field, though a bachelor's degree strengthens your candidacy for roles in technology and government contracting. Utah does not require a state-issued license to work as a project coordinator, but earning a PMI certification such as the Certified Associate in Project Management through the Project Management Institute is widely recognized and recommended by large Utah employers across healthcare, construction, and IT.
How much do project coordinators make in Utah?
Project coordinators in Utah earn a median of about $96,720 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $56,840 for the lowest 10% to over $159,240 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire project coordinators in Utah?
Companies currently hiring project coordinators in Utah include University of Utah, Ion Solar, and MMR, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Utah's concentration of defense contractors, health systems, and technology firms means consistent year-round demand from large, established organizations.
Which Utah cities have the most project coordinator jobs?
Salt Lake City, Orem, and Magna account for the most project coordinator openings in Utah. Salt Lake City anchors the market through its dense mix of healthcare systems, government agencies, and technology companies, while Provo-Orem benefits from a strong university-adjacent tech corridor and West Jordan draws openings from suburban corporate campuses and construction firms expanding along the Wasatch Front.
Are there remote project coordinator jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than most fields. Project coordination is largely desk-based work involving scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder communication, which makes it well suited to remote arrangements. About 36% of project coordinator openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting strong demand from Utah-based technology and government contracting employers who routinely post distributed roles. The most remote-friendly specialties are IT project coordination and software implementation support.
How can I get hired as a project coordinator in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a closely related administrative or operations role such as project administrator, scheduling coordinator, or office manager, then stepping into a junior project coordinator title as experience accumulates. Large Utah employers like Intermountain Health and Utah state agencies regularly hire project support staff with no formal project management experience, and construction firms on the Wasatch Front frequently bring on project engineers or field administrators who transition into coordination. Earning the Certified Associate in Project Management credential signals readiness and gives candidates a concrete edge when competing against others at the same experience level.
Where can I find and apply to project coordinator jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to project coordinator jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current Utah openings. Search the roles that match your background and experience level, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
