Project Coordinator Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project coordinator in Florida?
Most project coordinator roles in Florida require at minimum an associate degree, though a bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, information technology, or a related field gives candidates a clear advantage. Florida does not issue a state-specific license for project coordinators, but earning a CAPM or PMP credential through the Project Management Institute is strongly preferred by Florida employers, particularly in construction, healthcare, and government contracting sectors.
How much do project coordinators make in Florida?
Project coordinators in Florida earn a median of about $98,070 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,070 for the lowest 10% to over $161,250 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire project coordinators in Florida?
Employers hiring project coordinators in Florida right now include Paul Davis Restoration, CPH, and Goldbelt, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of large construction firms, hospital systems, and defense contractors means demand for project coordinators is spread across multiple industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Florida cities have the most project coordinator jobs?
Tampa, Orlando, and Miami have the most project coordinator openings in Florida. Miami leads due to its large construction pipeline and corporate headquarters, Tampa draws demand from healthcare systems and technology firms, and Orlando's hospitality, theme park, and infrastructure projects keep a steady need for coordinators across multiple industries.
Are there remote project coordinator jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than many fields. Project coordination is largely desk-based work involving scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder communication, which translates well to remote or hybrid arrangements. About 20% of project coordinator openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. IT project coordination roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while construction and facilities-based coordination roles typically require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a project coordinator in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a project coordinator role from an adjacent position such as administrative coordinator, project assistant, or operations associate. Large Florida employers like AdventHealth, Lennar, and the Florida Department of Management Services hire project assistants who work into full coordination roles. Completing a CAPM certification and building a portfolio of coordinated tasks from volunteer, academic, or freelance projects strengthens an application considerably when direct experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to project coordinator jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to project coordinator jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the employers posting them.
