Most recruiting managers in New Jersey begin with a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or psychology, then build several years of full-cycle recruiting experience before moving into a people-management role. New Jersey does not require a state-issued license for recruiting managers, but earning a credential such as the PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP meaningfully strengthens a candidacy, particularly at the larger pharmaceutical and financial services firms headquartered in the state.
How much do recruiting managers make in New Jersey?
Recruiting managers in New Jersey earn a median of about $172,440 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $108,040 for the lowest 10% to over $294,570 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire recruiting managers in New Jersey?
Employers hiring recruiting managers in New Jersey right now include JD, Paycom, and Hand Over Hand, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of pharmaceutical headquarters, insurance carriers, and regional logistics hubs means consistent openings across a broad range of company sizes and industries throughout the state.
Which New Jersey cities have the most recruiting manager jobs?
Princeton, Bridgewater, and Florham Park have the most recruiting manager openings in New Jersey. Newark draws demand from its financial services and healthcare anchor employers, Princeton benefits from the surrounding pharmaceutical and biotech corridor, and Parsippany's concentration of corporate headquarters in Morris County generates steady hiring across technology and professional services firms.
Are there remote recruiting manager jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than most management roles, since recruiting work is largely relationship-driven and can be conducted effectively through video interviews, digital sourcing, and virtual onboarding tools. About 54% of recruiting manager openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting broader flexibility in the profession. Technical recruiting and executive search roles within New Jersey tend to carry the most remote or hybrid scheduling options.
How can I get hired as a recruiting manager in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is starting as a recruiter or talent acquisition specialist at one of New Jersey's large employers, such as the pharmaceutical companies along the Route 1 corridor or the insurance and financial firms based in Newark, then building toward a team lead role. HR coordinator or sourcing analyst positions are common lateral entry points, and earning a SHRM-CP certification before applying for management roles gives candidates a measurable edge with New Jersey hiring teams that evaluate credentials formally.
