Registered Nurse Case Manager Jobs in Idaho: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a registered nurse case manager in Idaho?
You become a registered nurse case manager in Idaho by first holding an active RN license from the Idaho Board of Nursing, obtained by passing the NCLEX-RN and applying through the Board. Most Idaho employers then require at least one year of clinical nursing experience before moving into a case manager role. Earning a certified case manager credential, such as the CCM through the Commission for Case Manager Certification, significantly strengthens your candidacy with Idaho health systems and insurers.
How much do registered nurse case managers make in Idaho?
Registered nurse case managers in Idaho earn a median of about $92,460 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,210 for the lowest 10% to over $121,230 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire registered nurse case managers in Idaho?
Companies currently hiring registered nurse case managers in Idaho include Elite Home Health and Hospice, Optum, and Eden Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. Idaho's health system consolidation means large regional employers like St. Luke's and Saint Alphonsus account for a significant share of case management openings across both urban and rural markets.
Which Idaho cities have the most registered nurse case manager jobs?
Meridian, Boise, and Idaho Falls have the most registered nurse case manager openings in Idaho. Boise anchors the market as home to the state's largest health systems and several major regional insurers, while Idaho Falls and Twin Falls generate consistent demand because of their roles as regional medical hubs serving large rural catchment areas with limited local specialty resources.
Are there remote registered nurse case manager jobs in Idaho?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields because case management often involves direct patient interaction, facility rounding, and in-person care coordination. About 50% of registered nurse case manager openings tied to Idaho are remote or hybrid as of October 2026, reflecting a growing subset of roles. Utilization review and telephonic case management positions for insurers and managed care organizations tend to be the most consistently remote-eligible.
How can I get hired as a registered nurse case manager in Idaho with little or no experience?
The most realistic path for nurses with limited case management experience is to apply for care coordinator or discharge planner roles at Idaho health systems like St. Luke's or Saint Alphonsus, which regularly post entry-level care coordination positions and run structured onboarding programs for nurses transitioning out of bedside roles. Lateral moves from medical-surgical, home health, or oncology nursing are common stepping stones recognized by Idaho employers. Pursuing a certified case manager credential while still in a clinical role signals readiness and gives you a clear edge in the application process.
Where can I find and apply to registered nurse case manager jobs in Idaho?
You can find and apply to registered nurse case manager jobs in Idaho on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience and specialty area, then apply directly to the ones that fit your background and preferred location.
