RN Home Health Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a rn home health in Hawaii?
You must hold an active registered nurse license from the Hawaii State Board of Nursing, which requires completing an accredited associate or bachelor's degree nursing program and passing the NCLEX-RN exam. Most Hawaii home health employers also require at least one year of clinical experience before solo caseload assignment. Nurses licensed in other states can apply for Hawaii licensure by endorsement through the Board of Nursing.
How much do RN home healths make in Hawaii?
RN home healths in Hawaii earn a median of about $136,320 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,500 for the lowest 10% to over $147,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire rn home healths in Hawaii?
Companies currently hiring rn home healths in Hawaii include Bayada Home Health Care, BAYADA Home Health Care, and Neogen Care, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's island geography means that many employers organize hiring by island district, so checking for openings on specific islands such as Oahu, Hawaii Island, or Maui is worthwhile.
Which Hawaii cities have the most rn home health jobs?
Wailuku, Honolulu, and Kailua account for the most rn home health openings in Hawaii. Honolulu drives the largest share because it hosts the state's major hospital systems and the densest patient population, while Hilo and Kailua-Kona reflect the significant demand for home health services on Hawaii Island, where rural distances make in-home care a primary model rather than a supplement.
Are there remote rn home health jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of rn home health openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, since the core of the role is direct, in-person patient care at private residences. The portions most likely to be performed remotely are telehealth follow-up calls, care coordination, and documentation review rather than primary nursing visits.
How can I get hired as a rn home health in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing a new-graduate residency or structured orientation program at a larger Hawaii health system such as The Queen's Health System or Hawaii Pacific Health before transitioning to home health. Nurses coming from med-surg, rehabilitation, or long-term care units at Hawaii hospitals are strong candidates for junior home health roles. Obtaining your Hawaii RN license by endorsement quickly and adding a BLS certification strengthens any application from a new or relocating nurse.
Where can I find and apply to rn home health jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to rn home health jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your specialty, experience level, and preferred island, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
