About the Team
The Outside Sales team has been the face of DoorDash to our merchant partners since our founding in 2013. We build deep, hyper-local relationships with the most sought-after SMB restaurants in each region. By sourcing and qualifying new merchants, the Sales Development team drives the top of the funnel for Outside Sales and fuels the growth of partnerships that strengthen restaurant operations, accelerate consumer demand, and improve DoorDash's bottom line.
About the Role
We're looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) who is energized by high-volume outreach, enjoys uncovering opportunities through conversation, and wants to build a career in sales. In this role, you will own the early stages of the sales process—prospecting, identifying decision makers, qualifying interest, and securing meetings for our field sellers across your assigned region.
You'll engage SMB restaurant owners through high-volume outreach, using thoughtful messaging and targeted tactics to spark interest and qualify opportunities. You'll manage and track prospects in Salesforce and Google tools to ensure a smooth handoff to the appropriate field seller, with occasional field exposure to deepen your understanding of the full sales cycle.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced conversations, brings discipline and creativity to their outreach, and is eager to build the foundation for a future full-cycle career within DoorDash's Sales organization.
We expect this role to be flexible and will travel as needed for in-person collaboration through trainings, offsites, team-building events, and other business related necessity.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Identify, contact, and qualify the most important merchants and their decision makers in your market
- Conduct high-volume cold calling (65+ dials per day) and emailing to generate interest and secure qualified meetings
- Partner with field sellers to secure meetings that move the business forward
- Refine sales messaging, prospecting, qualifying, and closing techniques
- Build expertise in lead generation, consultative discovery, and storytelling
- Gain exposure to both inside and outside sales motions to broaden your skill set
We're excited about you because you have…
- 1+ years experience in high-volume outbound cold calling
- A track record of exceeding daily, weekly, or monthly goals
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proactivity in problem solving and comfort working autonomously
- Creative outreach tactics that open doors and spark conversation
- A talent for motivating potential partners to recognize the value DoorDash can bring to their business
- Experience navigating sales tools and internal tools (Salesforce, Google Apps)
- A willingness to learn quickly, adapt to change, and absorb feedback
- Mandarin-speaking candidates are strongly preferred for this role; however, we are still excited to consider highly qualified candidates who do not speak Mandarin.
Applications for this position are accepted on an ongoing basis.
