Employers at companies based in Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville typically look for candidates with coursework in sales, marketing, or business development, plus any prior customer-facing experience gained through part-time work or campus organizations.
Which companies hire sales interns in Tennessee?

Which Tennessee cities have the most sales intern jobs?
Nashville, Knoxville, and Bristol account for the largest share of sales intern openings in Tennessee. Nashville leads because of its high concentration of healthcare technology firms, insurance companies, and corporate headquarters, while Memphis draws from its logistics and distribution sector and Knoxville benefits from manufacturing and regional retail operations anchored by the University of Tennessee's business community.

Yes, though they are less common than in-person roles because most sales internships involve shadowing account managers, attending client meetings, or working a defined territory. About 75% of sales intern openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting a segment of employers who structure intern duties around lead generation, CRM data entry, and outreach tasks that can be completed off-site.
