Sales Professional Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales professional in Indiana?
Most Indiana employers hire sales professionals with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, though a degree is not always required for entry-level roles. Indiana does not require a state-issued license for most sales positions, but roles in insurance, real estate, or financial products require licensure through the Indiana Department of Insurance or the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency before you can legally sell those products.
Which companies hire sales professionals in Indiana?
Indiana sales professional roles are posted by Terminix, Ethan Allen, and Grupo Bimbo and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indiana's strong manufacturing, life sciences, and logistics base means many of these employers are seeking sales professionals who can work with industrial or healthcare clients.
Which Indiana cities have the most sales professional jobs?
Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Evansville have the most sales professional openings in Indiana right now. Indianapolis drives the largest share of listings because it is home to the state's biggest concentration of corporate headquarters, healthcare systems, and technology firms, while Fort Wayne and South Bend contribute openings tied to their manufacturing and financial services employers.
Are there remote sales professional jobs in Indiana?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 33% of sales professional openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely Indiana employers have adopted flexible arrangements for account management and inside sales roles. Territory-based outside sales and roles requiring regular client site visits remain predominantly on-site or field-based.
How can I get hired as a sales professional in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business development representative or inside sales associate role, which large Indiana employers like Salesforce, Anthem, and Cummins commonly use as structured entry points. Completing an internship through an Indiana university's business program or a sales development rotational program builds the proof of performance hiring managers look for. Earning an insurance or financial products license through the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency also opens immediate doors for candidates without a sales history.
Where can I find and apply to sales professional jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to sales professional jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings posted by Indiana employers. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to each one that fits your background.
