Security Product Manager Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a security product manager in Rhode Island?
Most Rhode Island employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or business combined with hands-on experience in a security or technical product role. There is no state-issued license specific to this role in Rhode Island. Candidates who hold industry credentials such as CISSP, CISM, or a Certified Product Manager designation consistently stand out in Providence-area and defense-corridor hiring processes. Building a portfolio that shows ownership of a shipped security feature strengthens any application.
Which companies hire security product managers in Rhode Island?
Employers hiring security product managers in Rhode Island right now include CVS Health, Citizens, and FM, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of defense contractors, regional insurers, and academic medical centers means openings arise across a broader range of industries than in purely tech-focused states.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most security product manager jobs?
Providence, Rhode Island, and Johnston account for the most security product manager openings in Rhode Island. Providence anchors the market as the state's business and technology center, while Newport draws demand from naval and defense institutions concentrated there, and other communities benefit from the suburban campuses of large insurers and healthcare networks that ring the Providence metro.
Are there remote security product manager jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than many fields, since security product management is largely a desk and collaboration-driven role that does not require physical presence on a factory floor or clinical setting. About 56% of security product manager openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader tech-sector norms. Roadmap planning, stakeholder alignment, and backlog management are the tasks most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a security product manager in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a technical adjacent role such as security analyst, IT project coordinator, or software QA engineer at a Rhode Island employer that already has a product organization. Lifespan Health System and Amica Mutual both run associate and rotational technology programs that have placed candidates without dedicated PM experience into junior product roles. Completing a recognized product management certification and contributing to an open-source security project to build a demonstrable portfolio gives early-career applicants a concrete edge in Rhode Island interviews.
Where can I find and apply to security product manager jobs in Rhode Island?

Search the roles available, identify the ones that fit your background and target companies, and apply directly to each listing that matches your experience and career goals.
