Senior Solution Architect Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior solution architect in Tennessee?
Senior solution architect roles in Tennessee do not require a state-issued license. The typical path starts with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering, followed by progressive experience as a systems analyst, solutions engineer, or enterprise architect. Tennessee employers place significant weight on vendor certifications from AWS, Microsoft, or Google, and on demonstrated experience delivering complex projects for industries such as healthcare IT or financial services common in the state.
How much do senior solution architects make in Tennessee?
Senior solution architects in Tennessee earn a median of about $123,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,340 for the lowest 10% to over $172,980 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior solution architects in Tennessee?
Employers hiring senior solution architects in Tennessee right now include Schneider Electric, Infosys, and Backbase, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tennessee's large healthcare, logistics, and financial services industries mean that hospital systems, insurance carriers, and distribution technology firms are consistently among the most active hirers in the state.
Which Tennessee cities have the most senior solution architect jobs?
Nashville, Brentwood, and Lebanon have the most senior solution architect openings in Tennessee. Nashville dominates the distribution because of its deep concentration of healthcare technology companies, corporate headquarters, and financial services firms, while Memphis draws demand from logistics and supply chain technology organizations tied to FedEx and related enterprises, and Knoxville benefits from its proximity to Oak Ridge National Laboratory and a growing university-anchored tech corridor.
Are there remote senior solution architect jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 60% of senior solution architect openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based and consultative nature of the role. Architecture, design, and advisory phases of the work are the most consistently performed remotely, while initial discovery workshops and go-live support phases more often require on-site presence at client or employer locations.
How can I get hired as a senior solution architect in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a software engineer, systems administrator, or business analyst role into a junior or associate solutions engineer position at a large Tennessee technology employer. Organizations like HCA Healthcare and Asurion run structured early-career technical programs that serve as a natural pipeline. Building a portfolio of architecture diagrams and proof-of-concept projects, combined with an entry-level cloud certification, gives candidates a concrete edge when applying to associate architect or technical pre-sales roles that transition into full solution architect work.
Where can I find and apply to senior solution architect jobs in Tennessee?
