Equipment Maintenance Shift Supervisor
As an Equipment Maintenance Shift Supervisor with the Wireless Semiconductor Division (WSD), you will be responsible for collaborating with fab operations, equipment engineering, and equipment area teams to sustain and improve equipment reliability and performance, while in support of overall safety, yield, reliability, and productivity goals. You will provide dotted-line management for all equipment maintenance technicians on your assigned shift, as well as take direct responsibility for the equipment support technicians on your shift. The shift supervisor will be responsible for managing a challenging environment, driving continuous improvement initiatives in our existing high-volume Si MEMS production facilities located along the Front Range Mountains in Northern Colorado. We are looking to hire a talented, highly motivated leader responsible for challenging and rewarding work.
Specific Objectives and Key Responsibilities:
- Lead team to deliver safe, stable, and reliable equipment performance.
- Lead and direct shift technician resources consistent with business-changing needs. Act as the escalation contact for emergency concerns, attendance, etc.
- Work with Equipment Maintenance Area Supervisors to implement global initiatives (RTQ, PM Checklist, CMMS, LOTO, escalations, CribMaster (automated hand tool system), PM kits, documentation review, etc.) consistent with equipment team standards and improve cross-shift communication performance.

Partner with Fab Operations supervisors to ensure our customer and factory needs are understood and met.

Allocate resources to the highest priority areas as defined by fab operations. Realign resources based on vacation, call-ins, training, and other area coverage issues. Resolve conflicts between PM schedules and reactive fab operations priorities.

Coordinate solutions to equipment issues and involve required resources early on to prevent extended downtime.

Encourage precision and excellence when performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and communication activities.
- Conduct thorough observations of practices and adherence to protocols and procedures, including LOTO activity audits. Enhance the standardization of processes while spending time on the factory floor.
- Point of contact to drive and support advanced troubleshooting and escalation for the shift.
- Responsible for ensuring and supporting the training and certification programs in place for the equipment maintenance technicians in their functional area. Provide feedback on global training shift needs.
- In the absence of the responsible EM Area Supervisor, provide the necessary management intervention for any HR issue that may arise on your shift. Carefully coordinate your actions with that employee’s EM Area Supervisor & HR in a timely manner.
- Provide input to the EM Area Supervisor for measuring employee performance utilizing the Quarterly Performance Form process (QPF).
- Drive and support equipment maintenance metric adherence including communication and corrective action plans.

Function as project/program manager for assigned cross-functional needs (e.g. Hand Tools Calibration program, CribMaster program, Pack Mule improvement project, AMHS Delivery System, etc.).

Drive assigned projects through completion utilizing the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) process as needed.

Participate in the selection & hiring of new technicians for your shift.

Provide active direct management of the Equipment Support Team technicians assigned to your shift.

Manage hiring resources as needed

Serve as a sounding board and source of advice for employees at any career stage (e.g., new hires through Master Level Technicians). This may encompass technical challenges or personnel/work-relationship difficulties.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Required Associate in Applied Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent technical degree.
- Preferred 8-10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and related challenges.
- Preferred experience includes previous management in equipment maintenance, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving, preventive maintenance planning, time management, and organizational skills. Candidates should possess electrical and mechanical technical knowledge of equipment, along with analytical reasoning abilities. Also has a proven track record of effectively managing a team of technical experts.
- Demonstrated technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to develop and mentor employees.
- Demonstrated ability to balance long-term and short-term goals and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experienced team player/team leader.
- Ability to resolve conflict constructively.

The successful candidate is required to participate on Broadcom's Emergency Response Team (ERT).

This includes working towards becoming an ERT Incident Commander, leading events, making strategic decisions, and serving as a point of contact for emergency events.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail is essential. Initiative to address and appropriately escalate problems to achieve rapid resolution.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
ADDITIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $70,300 - $112,500.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
