Overview
i3 Business Solutions is seeking a Junior AI, Automation & Business Solutions Consultant to help improve internal operations through business process consulting, practical AI solutions, and thoughtful automation.
This role will partner closely with Service Delivery, Operations, Project Management, Sales, Security, and Leadership to understand business needs, evaluate workflows, and recommend improvements that are secure, documented, and measurable. The ideal candidate is curious, process-minded, comfortable working with both people and technology, and eager to learn how AI, automation, PSA systems, RMM platforms, and documentation tools can improve the way an MSP operates.
The right candidate enjoys consulting with teams, asking thoughtful questions, learning how work gets done, and translating business challenges into practical technology-enabled solutions.
This is not a traditional help desk, infrastructure, networking, virtualization, or cybersecurity specialist position. The focus is on business analysis, process improvement, solution design, adoption, and measurable operational results.
This person is energized by meeting with stakeholders, understanding their goals, mapping current processes, and identifying opportunities to simplify or improve the way work is performed. They help teams evaluate options, define requirements, coordinate implementation, and use AI agents, bots, workflow platforms, and light scripting when appropriate. They are equally interested in the people, process, and technology sides of a solution and can communicate clearly with both business and technical audiences.
A strong fit may describe themselves as an AI and automation specialist, business systems analyst, process improvement consultant, or emerging business technology consultant.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with internal teams to understand goals, pain points, requirements, and current workflows.
- Assess business processes and recommend practical improvements using AI, automation, configuration changes, or revised procedures.
- Design, implement, and support AI-assisted workflows, agents, prompts, and automations using approved tools such as Thread, ConnectWise RPA, Copilot, Hatz, ConnectWise PSA, RMM, IT Glue, and Microsoft 365.
- Facilitate process-mapping, requirements-gathering, solution-review, and user-acceptance discussions.
- Document each solution, including its business purpose, owner, systems involved, permissions, dependencies, failure points, and support instructions.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to validate outcomes, support adoption, and refine solutions based on feedback.
- Track business value, including time saved, errors reduced, service quality improved, and user experience enhanced.
- Help establish i3's internal AI and automation standards, governance practices, solution catalog, and consulting methodology.
- Learn from senior business and technical leaders and grow into a broader AI, automation, and business solutions consulting role over time.
Qualifications
- Junior-level experience in business analysis, technology consulting, process improvement, automation, or a related field.
- Strong listening, discovery, problem-solving, facilitation, and documentation skills.
- Ability to understand business processes, identify root causes, and translate needs into clear solution requirements.
- Comfort communicating with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Interest in AI, automation, change management, and operational improvement.
- Familiarity with workflow tools, Microsoft 365, APIs, data concepts, or light scripting is helpful but not required.
- Experience with ConnectWise, IT Glue, RMM tools, Hatz, Thread, Copilot, Claude, MCP Servers, API integrations, Power Automate, or RPA platforms is preferred but not required.
What a Successful Candidate Should Be Able to Demonstrate
A successful candidate should be able to share two or three tangible examples from work, school, internships, volunteer activities, or personal projects. Examples may include a reusable prompt, document assistant, simple chatbot, workflow, reporting aid, knowledge-search tool, or other AI-assisted improvement. For each project, the candidate should be able to explain:
- The problem they were trying to solve and who would benefit from the solution.
- What they personally created, configured, tested, or improved.
- Which AI or workflow tool they used and why they selected it.
- How the project worked, including a simple demonstration, sample output, screenshot, or written walkthrough when appropriate.
- How they checked the AI output for accuracy, completeness, and usefulness.
- What information the tool could access and how they avoided exposing confidential, personal, client, or company data.
- What limitations, errors, or security risks they identified and how they addressed or communicated them.
- What tangible result the project produced, such as time saved, fewer mistakes, faster turnaround, better documentation, or an easier user experience.

Solutions Consultant Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a solutions consultant in Michigan?
Most solutions consultants in Michigan enter through a bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or engineering, followed by a role in technical sales, account management, or IT support. Michigan has no state-issued license specific to this role. Large Michigan employers in automotive technology and healthcare IT typically hire candidates who pair a relevant degree with platform certifications from vendors such as Salesforce or Microsoft and at least one year of client-facing experience.
Which companies hire solutions consultants in Michigan?
Michigan solutions consultant roles are posted by Siemens, United Way, and Applied Innovation and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Michigan's density of automotive, financial services, and healthcare technology employers means openings appear consistently throughout the year rather than clustering in a single hiring season.
Which Michigan cities have the most solutions consultant jobs?
Detroit, Michigan, and Livonia hold the most solutions consultant openings in Michigan. Detroit and its suburbs drive volume through the automotive technology and financial services sectors, while Grand Rapids draws openings from manufacturing software and regional healthcare systems, and Ann Arbor's concentration of university-affiliated tech firms and research hospitals adds a steady stream of enterprise-focused roles.
Are there remote solutions consultant jobs in Michigan?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of solutions consultant openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and screen-sharing nature of much of the work. Discovery calls, demos, and proposal reviews translate well to remote formats, though on-site visits for enterprise implementations at Michigan manufacturing or healthcare clients are still common for senior roles.
How can I get hired as a solutions consultant in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development or technical support role at a Michigan-based software or IT services company, which builds the product knowledge and client communication skills employers look for. Companies such as Rocket Companies and regional Salesforce or SAP partners in the Detroit and Grand Rapids areas run associate or rotational programs for new graduates. Earning a vendor certification before applying, and framing any internship or project work around measurable client outcomes, gives candidates without direct consulting experience a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to solutions consultant jobs in Michigan?
You can find and apply to solutions consultant jobs in Michigan on Migrate Mate, which lists current Michigan openings. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and location preference, and apply directly to each one that fits.
