Solutions Director Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a solutions director in Minnesota?
Most solutions directors in Minnesota reach the role after several years in solutions consulting, pre-sales engineering, or technical account management. Minnesota does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers here typically look for a bachelor's degree in business or a technical field, deep platform expertise in areas like cloud or enterprise software, and a history of owning the full sales or delivery cycle. Industry certifications from Microsoft, AWS, or Salesforce strengthen candidacy considerably.
Which companies hire solutions directors in Minnesota?
Minnesota solutions director roles are posted by nVent, Optum, and Target and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Minnesota's concentration of Fortune 500 healthcare and financial services headquarters means many of these openings sit inside large, multi-division organizations with ongoing enterprise client portfolios.
Which Minnesota cities have the most solutions director jobs?
Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Anoka have the most solutions director openings in Minnesota. The Minneapolis-St. Paul metro drives the majority of demand because it anchors the state's enterprise technology, insurance, and financial services sectors, while Rochester's concentration of healthcare and medical technology employers, led by Mayo Clinic, generates a steady share of health-focused solutions roles.
Are there remote solutions director jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and more than many fields. Solutions director work is largely consultative and communication-driven, making it well suited to remote or hybrid arrangements. About 71% of solutions director openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the role's digital nature. Strategy, pre-sales, and client advisory functions are the most commonly offered remotely, while roles tied to hands-on implementation may require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a solutions director in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a solutions consultant or pre-sales associate role at a large Minnesota technology or healthcare IT employer. Companies like UnitedHealth Group and Optum run structured rotational and associate programs for candidates coming from adjacent positions such as business analyst, account coordinator, or technical support specialist. Building a platform certification in AWS, Salesforce, or Microsoft Azure before applying gives candidates a concrete, verifiable credential that compensates for limited direct experience.
Where can I find and apply to solutions director jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to solutions director jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current Minnesota openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and preferred location or format, and apply directly through each listing. No account or profile is required to see the openings.
