Strategy Manager Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy manager in Tennessee?
Most strategy managers in Tennessee enter the field through a business, finance, or economics degree followed by experience in consulting, corporate finance, or operations. Tennessee does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers in Nashville and Memphis typically expect candidates to have progressed through analyst or associate-level planning roles, and an MBA from a Tennessee institution such as Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management or the University of Tennessee Haslam College of Business can accelerate the path significantly.
Which companies hire strategy managers in Tennessee?
Employers hiring strategy managers in Tennessee right now include Amazon, Oracle, and Asurion, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tennessee's deep concentration of healthcare headquarters and logistics companies means that strategy roles here frequently sit inside corporate development, growth, or enterprise transformation teams within large, multi-site organizations.
Which Tennessee cities have the most strategy manager jobs?
Nashville, Memphis, and Brentwood account for the greatest concentration of strategy manager openings in Tennessee. Nashville drives the largest share, anchored by its healthcare and corporate headquarters ecosystem, while Memphis draws demand from logistics and supply chain enterprises, and Knoxville reflects activity from energy, manufacturing, and university-affiliated organizations in the eastern part of the state.
Are there remote strategy manager jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than many roles, since strategy work is largely analytical and presentation-driven rather than tied to a physical worksite. About 40% of strategy manager openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting broader corporate flexibility in this function. The work most commonly performed remotely includes competitive analysis, financial modeling, and executive reporting, while on-site presence is more often expected during planning cycles and stakeholder workshops.
How can I get hired as a strategy manager in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an associate or junior strategy analyst role, which large Tennessee employers like HCA Healthcare, Dollar General, and regional consulting practices hire into on a regular basis. Candidates with no direct strategy experience often move laterally from financial analysis, operations management, or project management roles. Building a portfolio of case studies or completing a rotational business program at a Tennessee-headquartered company strengthens an application, as does an MBA with a strategy concentration from a recognized Tennessee program.
Where can I find and apply to strategy manager jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to strategy manager jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings across industries and experience levels. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and goals, and apply directly to each opening without needing to go elsewhere.
