No statewide general license governs the role, but those selling pharmaceutical or medical products often need manufacturer-provided product certifications. Candidates targeting healthcare accounts benefit from familiarity with Rhode Island Department of Health facility regulations, and insurance-focused roles may require a Rhode Island Property and Casualty or Life license issued by the Department of Business Regulation.
How much do territory business managers make in Rhode Island?
Territory business managers in Rhode Island earn a median of about $154,970 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $90,910 for the lowest 10% to over $258,950 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory business managers in Rhode Island?

Providence anchors the market as the state's commercial and healthcare hub, home to major health systems and financial headquarters, while Warwick and Cranston generate openings through manufacturing, distribution, and retail corporate offices clustered along the Route 2 and I-95 corridors.

CVS Health and Amica Mutual both run rotational and associate sales programs in the state. Candidates from adjacent roles like retail banking, clinical liaison, or account coordinator work are commonly considered.
