Senior Project Lead Engineer – Transmission Lines – Remote
Job Description
Forge ahead with WSB. We are seeking Senior Engineer – Transmission Lines to add to our growing team. You will lead detailed engineering design for high-voltage transmission line projects (69–500 kV) while supporting multidisciplinary coordination, quality assurance and project execution in a remote work environment. You will guide junior staff, contribute to design standards and ensure deliverables meet all client, regulatory and technical requirements. We are looking for an experienced transmission line engineer with strong PLS-CADD and PLS-Pole expertise who thrives in a collaborative, flexible and forward-thinking setting. What you will do:
- Lead design team in completion of detailed phases of engineering.
- Guide and answer questions related to detailed engineering calculations for the design of steel, concrete, and wood supporting structures and their associated foundations.
- Provide thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations.
- Manage engineers, drafters, and designers on small to medium sized engineering projects.
- Conduct weekly or bi-weekly project meetings to clearly outline upcoming deliverables and tasks with responsible personnel identified.
- Forecast upcoming project requirements to assist in resource planning.
- Maintain project workflow and thorough communication across multi-discipline projects, both internal and external to WSB.
- Coordinate with clients on project status and support project meetings as necessary.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
- Strong focus on quality and high attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budget and time constraints.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineering licensure (strongly preferred).
- 7+ years of experience using PLS-CADD, Pole, etc.
- 2+ years of experience supervising and mentoring a team of engineers and designers.
- Some experience using FAD Tools, L-Pile, etc.
- Ability to apply client specifications and preferences to all designs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
- Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
- Strong focus on quality.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as a strong team player.
