Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 3x12 Days position requiring 2 years of ICU experience and care of septic and mechanically ventilated patients.
Details
- Adult Intensive Care Unit within a hospital setting, 30 beds
- Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
- Cares for patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, substance abuse disorders, endocrine disorders, and psychiatric disorders
- Uses Alaris pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, and EV1000 equipment
- Uses Epic EMR
- 3x12 Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend (Sat/Sun) required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to other patient care areas when home unit has low census
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Strong comprehensive assessment skills required
- Experience caring for septic patients required
- Experience caring for mechanically ventilated patients with hemodynamic monitoring devices required
- CRRT experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- EKG testing required as part of the application process, with two attempts allowed

- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment supporting complex medical-surgical cases
- Team-oriented environment valuing flexibility, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Orientation includes online modules completed on the first day, Epic training if needed, and one day of unit orientation
- Reports to 3 East in the Tower building and must park in designated employee parking areas
- Navy scrub color required; hoodies and non-facility sweatshirts are not permitted
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted at a reduced bill rate
