UX Research Intern Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ux research intern in Pennsylvania?
UX research intern roles in Pennsylvania do not require a state-issued license or certification. The typical path is enrolling in a bachelor's or master's program in human-computer interaction, cognitive science, psychology, or information science at a Pennsylvania institution such as Carnegie Mellon University, Drexel University, or Penn State, then building a portfolio of independent or classroom research projects that demonstrates your ability to plan studies, recruit participants, and synthesize findings.
Which companies hire ux research interns in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring ux research interns in Pennsylvania right now include ZS, CSL Plasma, and Saint-Gobain, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Pennsylvania's large healthcare systems and financial technology firms tend to run the most consistent internship cohorts, particularly in the Philadelphia metro.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most ux research intern jobs?
Philadelphia, Malvern, and Pittsburgh lead Pennsylvania for ux research intern openings. Philadelphia's concentration of health systems, financial services firms, and consumer technology companies drives the largest share of postings, while Pittsburgh's strength in robotics, healthcare, and university-affiliated research labs anchors strong demand in the west. State College activity is tied closely to Penn State's research partnerships.
Are there remote ux research intern jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields, because ux research work is largely screen-based and studies can be conducted remotely. About 100% of ux research intern openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the role's digital nature. User interview facilitation and survey analysis are the tasks most frequently performed fully remotely, while in-person lab sessions or stakeholder workshops tend to require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a ux research intern in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to structured internship programs at Pennsylvania's anchor employers, including UPMC, Comcast, and Independence Blue Cross, which recruit students with no professional experience but a clear portfolio. Lateral entry from adjacent roles such as market research assistant, academic research coordinator, or product support analyst is common. A capstone research project, published usability study, or participation in a university UX club gives candidates a concrete edge and compensates for a thin professional history.
Where can I find and apply to ux research intern jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to ux research intern jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings updated in real time. Search the listings, identify roles that match your background and availability, and apply directly to the employers that fit.
