Virtual Sales Representative Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a virtual sales representative in Massachusetts?
Most virtual sales representative roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though many employers will substitute equivalent sales experience. The role carries no state-issued license or registration in Massachusetts. Candidates typically build their path through inside sales or account coordinator roles at Massachusetts technology, life sciences, or financial services firms, then move into virtual sales positions as they build a verifiable record of closed revenue.
Which companies hire virtual sales representatives in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring virtual sales representatives in Massachusetts right now include Mass General Brigham, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and iCorps, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of life sciences, software, and financial services companies creates ongoing demand for virtual sales professionals who can sell technical or regulated products remotely.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most virtual sales representative jobs?
Boston, Somerville, and Woburn have the most virtual sales representative openings in Massachusetts. Boston drives the largest share, anchored by its dense cluster of software, biotech, and financial services headquarters, while Worcester and Cambridge contribute openings tied to their own growing technology and research employer bases.
Are there remote virtual sales representative jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. Virtual sales representative work is built around remote communication by design, making fully remote arrangements common. About 46% of virtual sales representative openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how naturally the role fits distributed work arrangements. Prospecting, product demonstrations, and pipeline management are the parts of the role most consistently performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a virtual sales representative in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or business development representative role, which Massachusetts technology and life sciences companies use specifically to bring in candidates without a full sales history. Employers like HubSpot and Drift have structured associate programs designed for early-career applicants in the Boston area. A HubSpot Sales Software certification or demonstrated proficiency in Salesforce gives candidates a concrete edge, and moving from customer success or account support roles at Massachusetts SaaS or healthcare technology firms is a common lateral route in.
