Why work for us?
A career at Janus Henderson is more than a job, it’s about investing in a brighter future together.
Our Mission at Janus Henderson is to help clients define and achieve superior financial outcomes through differentiated insights, disciplined investments, and world-class service. We will do this by protecting and growing our core business, amplifying our strengths and diversifying where we have the right.
Our Values are key to driving our success, and are at the heart of everything we do:
Clients Come First - Always | Execution Supersedes Intention | Together We Win | Diversity Improves Results | Truth Builds Trust
If our mission, values, and purpose align with your own, we would love to hear from you!
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Janus Henderson is undertaking a firm-wide AI transformation programme (DFT 2.0) to embed AI capabilities across every business function. The AI Business Partner is a new role at the heart of this effort - you will be embedded directly within a business unit, working side-by-side with teams to identify high-value AI opportunities, build practical solutions, and drive measurable adoption. Over time, you will rotate across departments, carrying proven patterns and solutions with you and adapting them to new contexts.
This is not a training role that sits on the sidelines, and it is not a pure technology role that builds in isolation. You will operate at the intersection of business process expertise, AI solution development, and change enablement - translating real workflow pain points into working AI solutions that people actually use.
You will be part of the Innovation team and work within the AI Academy 2.0 framework, partnering closely with department AI champions (Air Traffic Controllers) and advanced users (Fighter Pilots) to scale AI capability from within the business. Your primary toolkit today is Microsoft Copilot and the M365 ecosystem, but the firm’s AI strategy is platform-agnostic - you will be expected to evaluate, learn, and deploy new tools as they emerge.
- Embed within an assigned business unit to discover, scope, and prioritise AI use cases by working directly with teams to understand their workflows, pain points, and opportunities — then rotate to new departments, bringing replicable solutions with you
- Design and build intelligent solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, SharePoint Agents, Power Automate, and the broader M365 ecosystem — from rapid prototypes to production-ready agents
- Evaluate and adopt emerging AI tools beyond Copilot (e.g., Claude, agentic AI platforms, custom LLM applications) as the firm’s toolkit evolves, applying the same rigorous use-case-driven approach
- Develop lightweight business cases for each initiative, clearly linking solutions to measurable outcomes (time saved, quality improved, risk reduced, revenue enabled)
- Coach and upskill business users in prompt engineering, AI tool usage, and solution design — building lasting capability within departments, not dependency on you
- Partner with department AI champions (ATCs) to develop Fighter Pilots — the next generation of departmental AI leaders who will sustain and scale adoption after you rotate out
- Document all solutions, use cases, and implementation patterns for the firm’s AI knowledge base, ensuring what you build in one department can be replicated across the firm
- Collaborate with Technology and governance teams to ensure all solutions meet security, data privacy, and responsible AI standards
- Stay current with evolving AI capabilities — Copilot feature releases, agentic AI patterns, new tooling — and translate these into practical applications for your business units
- Carry out other duties as assigned
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU JOIN OUR FIRM
- Hybrid working and reasonable accommodations
- Generous Holiday policies
- Paid volunteer time to step away from your desk and into the community
- Support to grow through professional development courses, tuition/qualification reimbursement and more
- Maternal/paternal leave benefits and family services
- Complimentary subscription to Headspace – the mindfulness app
- Corporate membership to ClassPass and other health and well-being benefits
- Unique employee events and programs including a 14er challenge
- Complimentary beverages, snacks and all employee Happy Hours
MUST HAVE SKILLS
- Hands-on experience building solutions with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps), or similar low-code/no-code AI tooling — you should be able to take a business problem and turn it into a working agent or automation
- Demonstrable experience with multiple AI/GenAI tools and platforms — you are not locked into one ecosystem and can evaluate, learn, and deploy new tools as they emerge
- Strong business analysis capability — you can map complex business processes, identify where AI adds genuine value, and distinguish between problems that need AI and problems that need better process
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management across all levels — equally comfortable presenting ROI cases to senior leaders as you are coaching a team member through their first prompt
- Practical experience with change management or technology adoption — you understand that building a solution is half the job; getting people to use it is the other half
- Working knowledge of prompt engineering and GenAI application design — not just using AI tools, but designing multi-step workflows, agent architectures, and conversational experiences
- Self-directed and comfortable operating with ambiguity — you will be embedded in business teams without a detailed playbook, expected to identify what matters most and act on it
- Strong documentation instincts — you create clear, reusable guides, solution templates, and training materials that outlast your direct involvement
- Experience working in a regulated environment (financial services, healthcare, legal, government) where governance, compliance, and data sensitivity shape how solutions are designed and deployed
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS
- Direct experience in financial services or asset management — understanding of investment processes, client service workflows, operations, compliance, or distribution
- Deep familiarity with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem — SharePoint, Teams, Dataverse, Azure AI services — and how they interconnect
- Background in consulting, internal advisory, or embedded specialist roles where you had to earn credibility and deliver results without direct authority
- Experience with ROI measurement and value tracking for technology implementations — building the case, defining the metrics, and following through on outcomes
- Understanding of data governance, responsible AI principles, and the emerging regulatory landscape for AI
- Experience training, mentoring, or coaching others in technology adoption — particularly non-technical users
- Product management sensibility — ability to think in terms of MVPs, iteration, user feedback, and feature prioritisation
- Microsoft certifications in AI, Power Platform, or Copilot Studio
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No — but you will be expected to develop Fighter Pilot candidates within your assigned business units as part of the AI Academy framework
POTENTIAL FOR GROWTH
- Mentoring
- Leadership development programs
- Regular training
- Career development services
- Continuing education courses
- Microsoft AI and Power Platform certification pathways
- Exposure to a firm-wide AI transformation programme with direct executive visibility
- Opportunity to shape a new function — the AI Business Partner model is being established for the first time at Janus Henderson, with scope to define how the role scales across the organisation

Which investment management companies sponsor F-1 OPT visas in Colorado?
Charles Schwab has a significant Denver presence and has historically hired F-1 OPT candidates in analytical and client-facing roles. Janus Henderson Investors, headquartered in Denver, is one of the larger institutional asset managers in the state and recruits international graduates. Smaller registered investment advisors (RIAs) and family offices in the Denver metro also sponsor OPT, though their hiring is less predictable than large firms.
Which cities in Colorado have the most investment management F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the large majority of investment management OPT sponsorship opportunities in Colorado, particularly the downtown financial district and the Denver Tech Center. Boulder has a smaller but active finance and fintech community where some fund operations and wealth management roles appear. Colorado Springs occasionally has opportunities tied to military-affiliated financial services firms, but Denver remains the clear primary market for OPT candidates in this industry.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship?
Roles that align with a quantitative, finance, or economics degree tend to qualify most reliably under OPT's degree-related work requirement. These include investment analyst, portfolio analyst, risk analyst, quantitative researcher, and fund operations associate positions. Roles in financial data analysis and client reporting also commonly qualify. The position must be directly related to your field of study, so documenting that connection is important when your employer files the necessary paperwork.
How do I find investment management F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, making it straightforward to find investment management roles in Colorado that are open to F-1 OPT candidates. Beyond a job board, Migrate Mate focuses on employers with an established pattern of sponsorship, which saves time compared to applying broadly and discovering late in the process that a firm does not support OPT. Filter by state and industry to narrow results to Colorado investment management openings.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for F-1 OPT sponsorship in investment management?
Colorado does not impose state-level restrictions on OPT employment, but investment management roles often require FINRA licensing such as the Series 7 or Series 65, and sitting for those exams typically requires employer sponsorship, which can create a timing dependency during OPT. Colorado's RIA-heavy market means many employers are smaller firms that may be less familiar with OPT authorization paperwork, so confirming a firm's prior experience with international hires before accepting an offer is worthwhile.
