Which telecom companies sponsor visas in Colorado?
Major telecom sponsors in Colorado include Lumen Technologies (formerly CenturyLink) headquartered in Monroe, Comcast with Denver operations, Viasat in Boulder, and Charter Communications. NextLight in Longmont, Holy Cross Energy's broadband division, and various wireless infrastructure companies also sponsor H-1B and other work visas for engineering and technical positions.
What visa types are most common for telecom jobs in Colorado?
H-1B visas dominate Colorado telecom sponsorship, particularly for network engineers, software developers, and RF engineers. O-1 visas are used for senior technical specialists in 5G and satellite communications. L-1 transfers are common given Colorado's role as a regional hub for major telecom companies with international operations.
How to find telecom visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Use Migrate Mate to search telecom positions specifically filtered for Colorado and visa sponsorship eligibility. Focus on Denver-Boulder corridor companies, research recent H-1B filings from Colorado telecom employers, and target roles in network infrastructure, broadband expansion, and wireless technology where Colorado companies actively hire international talent.
Which Colorado cities have the most telecom sponsorship opportunities?
Denver leads with major telecom headquarters and regional offices, followed by Boulder's tech corridor housing companies like Viasat and Ball Aerospace. Westminster, Broomfield, and Longmont also offer opportunities with fiber providers and wireless infrastructure companies. Colorado Springs has defense contractors with telecom divisions.
What are the prevailing wage considerations for Colorado telecom roles?
Colorado's prevailing wages for telecom positions are competitive, especially in the Denver-Boulder metro area. The state's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires salary transparency, which helps visa applicants understand compensation ranges. Mountain region wages often exceed national averages for specialized telecom engineering roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored telecom jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
