Which electronics companies sponsor H-1B visas in Delaware?
Delaware's H-1B electronics sponsors include large multinationals with Wilmington-area operations such as DuPont, Siemens, and defense electronics contractors serving the Mid-Atlantic region. Smaller contract manufacturers and electronics engineering firms in the Wilmington and Newark areas also appear in DOL Labor Condition Application filings. Checking OFLC disclosure data by employer name and occupation code gives the clearest picture of active sponsors in the state.
Which cities in Delaware have the most electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the majority of Delaware's H-1B electronics activity, as the state's largest city and primary corporate hub. Newark, home to the University of Delaware and nearby research corridors, also generates electronics engineering roles. Dover sees some activity tied to defense and government-adjacent electronics work. Because Delaware is geographically compact, many sponsored positions are within commuting distance across all three cities.
What types of electronics roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that routinely qualify include electrical engineers, hardware design engineers, embedded systems engineers, PCB layout engineers, RF engineers, semiconductor process engineers, and electronics test engineers. Each must meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard, meaning the position normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or computer engineering. O*NET occupation profiles can help verify that a specific role meets this threshold.
How do I find electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate lets you filter verified H-1B sponsorship jobs by state and industry, so you can search specifically for electronics roles in Delaware without sifting through employers who don't sponsor. The platform surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application filing history by employer, showing which companies have actively sponsored H-1B workers in electronics occupations in Delaware and in what volume, giving you a data-backed starting point for your search.
Are there state-specific considerations for H-1B electronics sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware has no state-level visa sponsorship program or additional filing requirement beyond federal H-1B rules. However, its status as a corporate registration hub means many companies are legally incorporated in Delaware while operating electronics facilities elsewhere, so job location and employer headquarters may differ. Professionals should confirm that the actual work site is within Delaware when evaluating a role, as prevailing wage determinations under the LCA are tied to the specific work location, not the employer's registered state.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B electronics jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
