Summary: The Campus Recruiter is responsible for building and maintaining strong connections with colleges, universities, and Early Career talent to support Freedom Mortgage’s hiring goals. This role plans and executes comprehensive campus engagement strategies while managing the full-cycle recruitment process for Early Talent hiring. The Campus Recruiter serves as a brand ambassador and trusted hiring partner, driving proactive candidate outreach, strategic pipeline development, market intelligence, and year-round relationship building to ensure a consistent and high-quality early talent pipeline aligned with business needs.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and sustain strategic partnerships with colleges, universities, faculty, student organizations, and career services teams to attract high-potential Early Career talent and strengthen Freedom Mortgage’s campus presence.
- Develop and execute campus-specific sourcing strategies through networking, CRM campaigns (Phenom), sourcing tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Handshake), referrals, and creative outreach initiatives to build and maintain robust, diverse candidate pipelines.
- Represent Freedom Mortgage at campus events, career fairs, classroom sessions, information sessions, networking events, and other engagements; travel is required (estimated at 50%) to maintain an active and visible campus presence.
- Plan and execute on-campus and post-event engagement initiatives, including happy hours, networking receptions, classroom presentations, and targeted follow-up campaigns to maximize candidate conversion and long-term relationship building.
- Manage booth logistics and event execution, including transporting and setting up displays, maintaining marketing collateral inventory, ordering materials, coordinating QR codes and digital assets, and troubleshooting onsite technical issues (A/V equipment, presentation peripherals, Wi-Fi connectivity, etc.) as needed.
- Evaluate and manage a high volume of candidates throughout the full recruitment lifecycle, including resume review, phone screening, interview coordination, offer extension, and dispositioning, while ensuring a positive, professional, and timely candidate experience. Proactively communicate next steps, provide clear expectations, and maintain consistent follow-up to strengthen candidate engagement and brand perception.
- Effectively communicate Freedom Mortgage’s Early Talent programs, company culture, career paths, and value proposition through compelling presentations, one-on-one conversations, classroom sessions, and digital engagement. Tailor messaging to diverse student audiences and clearly articulate growth opportunities and program benefits.
- Serve as a strategic talent advisor to hiring managers by understanding workforce planning needs, providing market insights, calibrating candidate profiles, and delivering qualified candidates aligned with business goals.
- Maintain ownership of pipeline health and candidate relationship management by leveraging Workday Recruit and Phenom CRM to track activity, ensure data integrity, and execute targeted outreach campaigns.
- Leverage social media platforms and recruitment marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and candidate engagement. Partner with the Recruitment Marketing Specialist to develop content, support live event coverage, participate in social media takeovers, and create authentic campus-driven content.
- Act as a visible brand ambassador by capturing event highlights, engaging students across platforms, and maintaining a professional and engaging online presence that reflects Freedom Mortgage’s culture and values.
- Monitor, track, and report on recruiting KPIs (e.g., pipeline conversion, event ROI, time to fill, offer acceptance rate, source effectiveness). Provide regular updates to leadership and present progress, insights, and recommendations to elevated stakeholders as needed.
- Generate market intelligence related to campus recruiting trends, competitor activity, and talent availability. Synthesize findings into presentations using PowerPoint and deliver insights with executive presence and professionalism.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with outbound phone outreach, email, and text candidate engagement.
- Deliver polished and engaging presentations to student groups, faculty, and internal stakeholders, demonstrating executive presence and the ability to represent Freedom Mortgage in a professional and compelling manner.
- Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, using data to tell a story and support hiring strategies through clear reporting and presentations.
- Must be able to pivot into recruiting for roles outside of Early Talent as business needs evolve.
