Which distribution and wholesale companies sponsor Green Card visas in Florida?
Several large employers with significant Florida operations have established Green Card sponsorship programs, including Sysco (headquartered in Houston but with major distribution centers in Miami and Tampa), Ryder System (headquartered in Miami), World Fuel Services, and Tech Data. Larger wholesale distributors tend to sponsor through the EB-2 or EB-3 categories, though sponsorship decisions are made case by case and are never guaranteed.
Which cities in Florida have the most distribution and wholesale Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads the state for distribution and wholesale employment, driven by its role as a trade hub connecting the U.S. to Latin America and the Caribbean. Tampa and Orlando follow closely, with large warehouse and logistics corridors along I-4 and I-75. Jacksonville is also significant due to its deep-water port, which supports wholesale import and export operations requiring experienced supply chain professionals.
What types of distribution and wholesale roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Florida?
Roles that typically qualify for employer-sponsored Green Cards in this industry include supply chain managers, logistics analysts, procurement specialists, operations managers, and import/export compliance officers. Positions requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and specialized expertise are more commonly sponsored under EB-2 or EB-3. General warehouse or labor roles are less frequently sponsored for permanent residence, though EB-3 unskilled worker petitions do exist in limited cases.
How do I find distribution and wholesale Green Card sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international candidates seeking visa-sponsored roles and lets you filter by visa type, industry, and state. Searching within the distribution and wholesale category for Florida on Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have indicated Green Card sponsorship, saving significant time compared to manually screening job postings. Pairing that search with OFLC disclosure data can help you identify which Florida employers have historically filed PERM labor certifications.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in distribution and wholesale?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects compensation structures and cost-of-living calculations for sponsored workers but does not change federal Green Card requirements. Florida's high volume of international trade means many distribution employers are experienced with employment-based immigration, particularly in Miami-Dade County. However, Florida's competitive port and logistics market also means some roles attract enough U.S. applicants to complicate the PERM labor market test, which requires employers to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card distribution & wholesale jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
