Search Energy Jobs in FloridaEnergy TN Sponsorship Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
Which energy companies in Florida sponsor TN visas?
NextEra Energy and its subsidiary Florida Power and Light are among the largest energy employers in Florida and have a track record of hiring foreign nationals in technical roles. Duke Energy Florida, TECO Energy in Tampa, and various offshore and renewable energy contractors also hire in qualifying TN visa categories. Sponsorship availability varies by role, location, and hiring cycle, so verifying with each employer directly is important.
Which cities in Florida have the most energy TN sponsorship jobs?
Miami and the surrounding South Florida area host NextEra Energy's headquarters and a concentration of renewable energy and utility operations. Tampa is home to TECO Energy and a cluster of energy infrastructure employers. Orlando supports a growing clean energy and utilities sector, while Jacksonville has active natural gas and power generation operations. These four metros represent the highest concentration of energy hiring activity in the state.
What types of energy roles typically qualify for TN visa sponsorship in Florida?
TN visa eligibility in energy is tied to specific USMCA occupational categories, not the industry itself. Roles that commonly qualify include engineers (electrical, mechanical, chemical, petroleum), geoscientists, physicists, and computer systems analysts supporting energy operations. The position must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, and the job duties must align with the qualifying occupation's definition under USMCA.
How do I find energy TN sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking TN-eligible roles in the U.S. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface energy jobs in Florida where employers are open to TN sponsorship. Because TN eligibility depends on both the role and the employer's willingness to support the process, Migrate Mate's curated listings help you focus on opportunities where sponsorship is already part of the conversation.
Are there Florida-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in energy?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects compensation comparisons but does not change TN visa eligibility requirements. More relevant is that Florida's energy sector includes both regulated utilities and a growing number of renewable energy developers, some of which are smaller employers with less experience handling TN documentation. Confirming that a prospective employer has an HR or legal team familiar with USMCA work authorization is worth doing before advancing far in a hiring process.
