Summary of the position:
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for maintaining a professional and proactive relationship between the cross functional organization and the Quality Department. The Quality Assurance Technician performs inspections, tests, and audits to ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Assurance Technician assignments will be based on company’s quality scope needs along with growth opportunities.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of incoming materials and finished products, including First Article Inspection and PPAP inspections.
- Perform tests and evaluations on products to ensure they meet specifications.
- Document and record inspection results and report any quality concerns.
- Work cross functionally to investigate and complete disposition of non-conformance
- Collaborate with production staff to implement quality control measures.
- Assist in developing and maintaining quality assurance documentation and procedures.
- Participate in the investigation of part defects and non-conformities.
- Assist in the development and execution of quality improvement initiatives.
- Support cross functional team members regarding quality standards and practices.
- Perform process and product audits.
- Assist in investigations of Test Cell Callouts.
- Support Quality Department Initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- AA/AS Degree (preferred).
- Six Sigma Green Belt, ASQ-CQT/CMI training (preferred).
Professional experience:
- Previous experience in quality assurance or a related field.
- Knowledge of quality control methodologies and inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards (ISO9001, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in using measurement and testing equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and specifications.
- Competency in data analysis and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (Preference SAP).
