Who We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Patient Ambassador to join our reputable dental practice. As a Dental Patient Ambassador, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of our clinic. Your primary responsibility will be managing and coordinating all aspects of dental insurance billing, patient accounts, and financial transactions. You will work closely with patients, dental staff, and insurance companies to provide exceptional customer service while maintaining accurate financial records. Looking for a strong team player with a customer service background and/or skill set. Being detail oriented, organized, friendly, adaptable, and outgoing are all key qualities needed to succeed as a Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator.
Responsibilities include:
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their financial inquiries, insurance claims, and billing matters.
- Verify dental insurance coverage, explain benefits to patients, and assist them in understanding their financial responsibilities.
- Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims, ensuring compliance with coding and documentation requirements.
- Monitor and track insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursement and resolve any claim rejections or discrepancies.
- Collect and record patient payments, including copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
- Establish payment plans and arrange financing options for patients as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient financial records ensuring confidentiality and compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate with dental providers and staff to accurately estimate and communicate treatment costs to patients.
- Assist in managing accounts receivable, including sending statements, following up on overdue payments, and resolving billing disputes.
- Educate patients on financial policies, available payment options and the importance of regular dental care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years of dental financial coordinator, dental receptionist, or in a similar role within the dental or healthcare industry.
- In-depth knowledge of dental insurance plans, billing procedures, and dental terminology.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
