Lead Custodial Specialist
About This Role
This leadership position within custodial services supports K-State's mission of learning, scholarship, creative endeavor and research by creating and maintaining an environment which contributes to the health and safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors. The team leader's purpose is to guide and support their team toward achieving organizational goals while fostering individual and collective growth. This position plays an integral role in maintaining and sustaining university structural assets. This position is responsible for first impressions, thus playing an important role in student, faculty & staff recruitment and retention. This position performs a variety of custodial functions to include cleaning, disinfecting, minor equipment repair and preventative maintenance. It will be required to utilize a broad array of chemicals and operate a variety of power equipment in maintenance of floors and other duties. The position will also perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks as assigned by a supervisor and must be able to work with minimal supervision. This position requires the ability to frequently interact effectively with university students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Direct supervision is from the Custodial Services Supervisor. Hours are 5:00 a.m. - 1:30, with occasional call back for emergencies.

Worksite Description
This position is On-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications
- Requires one year of relevant experience.
- Various training and/or certification may be required.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Custodial experience in large residential or commercial buildings.
- Be able to learn the operation of a wide variety of commercial janitorial equipment and chemicals.
Sponsorship Eligibility
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
