Which healthcare companies sponsor E-3 visas in Massachusetts?
The largest healthcare employers in Massachusetts with established international hiring programs include Mass General Brigham, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children's Hospital, Tufts Medical Center, and UMass Memorial Health. Academic medical centers affiliated with Harvard, Tufts, and Boston University medical schools tend to have more experience processing E-3 visa sponsorship than smaller community practices or private clinics.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Boston is by far the most active city, home to the largest concentration of academic medical centers, specialty hospitals, and life sciences employers in the state. Worcester is the second-largest hub, anchored by UMass Memorial Health and UMass Chan Medical School. Springfield, Cambridge, and Burlington also have notable healthcare employer presence, particularly in hospital systems and outpatient specialty care.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require at least a U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent in a specific field. In healthcare, roles that consistently meet this standard include registered nurses with a BSN, physical therapists, occupational therapists, clinical laboratory scientists, medical researchers, healthcare data analysts, and health informatics specialists. General support roles without a degree requirement typically do not qualify.
How do I find healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is the most focused option for this search, with a job board filtered specifically by visa type and industry. You can search for E-3-sponsored healthcare roles in Massachusetts without sifting through positions that offer no sponsorship. Beyond the job board, targeting hospitals affiliated with Boston's major medical schools increases your chances, as these institutions are most familiar with E-3 applications and have dedicated HR resources for international hires.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for healthcare E-3 sponsorship?
Massachusetts requires healthcare professionals to hold a valid state license before starting work in licensed roles such as nursing, physical therapy, and clinical laboratory science. The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing and other licensing boards evaluate foreign credentials, and the process can take several weeks. Employers filing an E-3 application will need confirmation of your Massachusetts license or a pending application, so beginning the licensure process early is advisable.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 healthcare jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
