Which medical devices companies in Massachusetts sponsor F-1 CPT visas?
Several large medical devices employers in Massachusetts have structured internship and co-op programs that support F-1 CPT authorization, including Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Hologic, Smith+Nephew, and Insulet Corporation. Sponsorship availability varies by role, hiring cycle, and program type, so confirming CPT eligibility directly with the employer and your Designated School Official before accepting any offer is important.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most medical devices F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
The highest concentration of medical devices F-1 CPT jobs in Massachusetts is found in the Greater Boston area, including Cambridge and Marlborough, which sits along the Route 128 technology corridor. Natick, Milford, and Mansfield also host significant medical devices operations. Most F-1 students pursue CPT roles through Boston-area universities with established industry partnerships in these clusters.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Roles in engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, software, and biomedical engineering are among the most common CPT-eligible positions in Massachusetts medical devices companies. Quality assurance, regulatory affairs, research and development, and manufacturing operations internships also appear regularly. CPT eligibility depends on whether the role is directly tied to your degree program, so your DSO must authorize each position individually.
How do I find medical devices F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for F-1 students searching for CPT-eligible jobs and filters listings by visa type, industry, and state, making it straightforward to browse medical devices roles in Massachusetts that indicate CPT sponsorship. Beyond the platform, connecting with your university's co-op or internship office is valuable, as schools like Northeastern and BU have direct employer relationships with Massachusetts medical devices companies.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in medical devices?
Massachusetts medical devices roles often involve regulated environments under FDA oversight, meaning some positions require background checks, security clearances, or U.S. person status for export control compliance under ITAR or EAR. F-1 students should confirm with the employer whether any such restrictions apply before pursuing an offer. Additionally, CPT authorization must be approved before your start date, so build enough lead time to allow your DSO to process the request.
