Which medical devices companies in Ohio sponsor F-1 CPT visas?
Several large medical devices employers in Ohio have a track record of hiring F-1 students through CPT, including Cardinal Health in Dublin, Philips Healthcare in Cleveland, and Integra LifeSciences. Academic medical centers like Cleveland Clinic and Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center also work with affiliated device and medtech programs that may support CPT placements. Sponsorship availability varies by role and department, so confirming CPT acceptance with each employer's HR or recruiting team is important.
Which cities in Ohio have the most medical devices F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for medical devices CPT opportunities, partly due to Cardinal Health's headquarters and proximity to Ohio State University. Cleveland is a close second, anchored by the Cleveland Clinic health system and a concentration of medtech suppliers in the northeastern Ohio manufacturing corridor. Cincinnati also has notable activity, with device-adjacent roles at healthcare and life sciences companies in the Greater Cincinnati area.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship in Ohio?
Roles that align directly with engineering, life sciences, or related technical degree programs tend to qualify for CPT. Common examples in Ohio include quality engineering, regulatory affairs, biomedical engineering, manufacturing process engineering, and R&D roles. The key requirement is that the position must be an integral part of your academic program, which your Designated School Official and academic advisor must confirm before CPT authorization is issued.
How do I find medical devices F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students seeking CPT and OPT sponsorship jobs, including medical devices roles in Ohio. You can filter by visa type and state to see verified F-1 CPT opportunities with Ohio-based employers. This is more efficient than searching general job boards, since Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on positions where sponsorship has been identified, saving you time during a CPT authorization window.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in Ohio's medical devices sector?
Ohio has a strong medical devices manufacturing base, which means many CPT roles involve on-site work at production or quality facilities rather than remote positions. Because CPT authorization is tied to your specific employer and job duties, any change in work location or role scope typically requires updated authorization from your DSO. Ohio universities with strong biomedical or engineering programs, such as Ohio State and Case Western Reserve, often have industry partnerships that can streamline CPT placement approvals.
