Which consulting companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in Ohio?
The Big Four accounting and consulting firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, all have Ohio offices and have historically engaged CPT students for internship and co-op roles. Mid-size firms like Accenture, Protiviti, and West Monroe also recruit from Ohio universities. Sponsorship availability varies by office, role type, and hiring cycle, so confirming CPT eligibility directly with each employer's recruiting team is important.
Which cities in Ohio have the most consulting F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's largest consulting market, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, state government clients, and proximity to Ohio State University. Cleveland follows closely, with demand from healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing clients. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, supported by consumer goods companies and regional professional services firms. Smaller markets like Dayton and Akron have limited but present consulting activity.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Roles that qualify for CPT must be directly tied to your degree program and authorized by your Designated School Official. In consulting, this commonly includes management consulting internships, IT and systems consulting co-ops, financial advisory support roles, and operations or supply chain consulting positions. The role must have a clear academic connection to your field of study, which your DSO evaluates before CPT authorization is granted.
How do I find consulting F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students searching for visa-friendly roles, including consulting F-1 CPT jobs in Ohio. You can filter by visa type and state to see which Ohio consulting employers are actively open to CPT candidates. Because CPT eligibility is time-sensitive and tied to your academic calendar, searching on a platform that surfaces CPT-specific openings saves significant time compared to filtering general job boards manually.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for F-1 CPT sponsorship in consulting?
Ohio universities with strong co-op traditions, particularly the University of Cincinnati and Northeastern Ohio programs, have established pathways that make CPT authorization relatively straightforward for structured co-op roles. Consulting firms recruiting through these programs often have existing CPT compliance processes in place. That said, CPT authorization is issued by your school, not the employer, so requirements differ by institution even when the hiring firm is the same.
