Which distribution and wholesale companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in Ohio?
Several large employers in Ohio's distribution and wholesale sector have hired F-1 CPT students, including Cardinal Health (headquartered in Dublin), Sysco's Ohio distribution centers, Fastenal, and Gordon Food Service. Amazon and Cargill also operate major fulfillment and distribution facilities across the state. CPT eligibility depends on your school's authorization and whether the role qualifies as integral to your academic program, not solely on the employer.
Which cities in Ohio have the most distribution and wholesale F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads the state due to its central location and concentration of corporate headquarters, including Cardinal Health and several third-party logistics firms. Cleveland and its suburbs support wholesale and industrial distribution activity tied to manufacturing supply chains. Cincinnati is strong for consumer goods and food distribution, with companies like Kroger's supply operations and Gordon Food Service nearby. Dayton also sees activity from aerospace-adjacent distribution employers.
What types of distribution and wholesale roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Roles that align with business, supply chain management, logistics, or operations degree programs are most commonly approved for CPT by university DSOs. Common qualifying positions include supply chain analyst, procurement coordinator, inventory planning intern, warehouse operations associate, and demand forecasting analyst. Roles that are primarily manual or do not connect to a recognized academic field are less likely to receive CPT authorization from your school.
How do I find distribution and wholesale F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, state, and industry, making it straightforward to browse distribution and wholesale F-1 CPT opportunities in Ohio without sorting through irrelevant listings. Beyond Migrate Mate, your university's career center and DSO office often maintain relationships with Ohio employers familiar with CPT hiring, particularly at schools like Ohio State, University of Cincinnati, and Cleveland State.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 CPT sponsorship in Ohio's distribution sector?
Ohio does not impose additional state-level requirements on CPT employment beyond federal F-1 regulations, but students should confirm their internship site qualifies before accepting an offer. Distribution and wholesale roles often involve shift-based or warehouse environments, and not all positions map cleanly to academic programs, which affects DSO approval. Students at Ohio universities should verify that their specific job description is accepted by their institution before committing.
