Which hospitality companies sponsor Green Card visas in Massachusetts?
Large hotel operators with properties in Boston and Cambridge, including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and Omni Hotels, have historically filed employer-sponsored Green Card petitions for hospitality staff. Convention center operators, resort properties on Cape Cod and in the Berkshires, and large food service management companies contracting with hospitals and universities also appear in Department of Labor PERM disclosure data for Massachusetts hospitality roles.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most hospitality Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Boston accounts for the largest share, driven by its convention center, waterfront hotels, and Back Bay properties. Cambridge sees sponsorship activity tied to hotel demand from the MIT and Harvard corridors. Worcester and Springfield represent secondary markets with growing hotel and event venue infrastructure. Seasonal resort areas like Cape Cod and the Berkshires generate sponsorship activity as well, though primarily for permanent year-round management positions rather than seasonal roles.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Employers most commonly sponsor roles requiring specialized training or documented labor shortages. Executive chefs, sous chefs, hotel general managers, food and beverage directors, and front office managers appear frequently in PERM filings. Roles in event management, catering operations, and hotel sales also qualify when the employer can demonstrate that qualified U.S. workers were unavailable after a compliant recruitment process. Entry-level positions rarely meet the bar for employer-sponsored permanent residence petitions.
How do I find hospitality Green Card sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate lists hospitality jobs in Massachusetts where employers have indicated Green Card sponsorship willingness, making it easier to filter opportunities relevant to your situation without sorting through postings from companies that do not sponsor. When reviewing listings, look for employers with multiple Massachusetts properties or corporate HR infrastructure, as these organizations are better positioned to manage the PERM labor certification process required for most employment-based Green Card categories.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in hospitality?
Massachusetts has a relatively high prevailing wage standard, which affects the PERM labor certification process, as employers must pay the prevailing wage for the sponsored role throughout the petition. The state's competitive hospitality market in Boston means employers sometimes face recruitment documentation requirements that are more demanding than in smaller markets. Union properties in Boston may also have contractual considerations that affect how sponsorship is structured for covered positions.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card hospitality jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
