Search Insurance Jobs in MassachusettsInsurance Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
Which insurance companies sponsor Green Card visas in Massachusetts?
Liberty Mutual, headquartered in Boston, and Hanover Insurance, based in Worcester, are among the most established insurance employers in Massachusetts with histories of sponsoring permanent residence for skilled workers. MassMutual in Springfield and Travelers, which has a significant Massachusetts presence, have also filed Green Card petitions for roles in actuarial science, underwriting, and technology. Sponsorship decisions are made case by case and are never guaranteed.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most insurance Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Boston concentrates the most insurance Green Card sponsorship activity, given its density of corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and specialty insurers. Worcester is a secondary hub, anchored by Hanover Insurance's headquarters. Springfield hosts MassMutual's main campus and supports a meaningful volume of actuarial and finance hiring. Smaller clusters exist in Cambridge and Quincy, particularly for insurtech and reinsurance functions.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Roles requiring specialized education or credentials are most commonly sponsored. Actuaries with credentialing from the Society of Actuaries, senior underwriters, risk analysts, data scientists, and compliance officers with advanced degrees frequently qualify under EB-2 or EB-3 classifications. Information technology roles supporting insurance operations, such as software engineers and data engineers, are also commonly petitioned. Entry-level or generalist positions are less frequently sponsored.
How do I find insurance Green Card sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa-sponsored roles and lets you filter by visa type, state, and industry, making it straightforward to browse insurance Green Card jobs in Massachusetts directly. Beyond the job board, targeting employers with a documented sponsorship history in the state and applying to roles explicitly listing visa sponsorship as available will improve your results significantly.
Are there state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in the Massachusetts insurance industry?
Massachusetts has strict insurance regulatory requirements overseen by the Division of Insurance, which means licensed roles such as claims adjusters and producers may require state licensure before or concurrent with employment, adding a layer of credentialing to the sponsorship timeline. The state's competitive labor market in Boston can work in candidates' favor, as employers in tight talent pools, particularly for actuaries and data science roles, are generally more willing to initiate PERM labor certification.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card insurance jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
