Which transportation companies sponsor Green Card visas in Minnesota?
C.H. Robinson, headquartered in Eden Prairie, is one of Minnesota's largest transportation employers with a history of sponsoring international workers. FedEx and UPS both operate significant facilities in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area and have filed Green Card petitions for logistics and operations roles. Smaller freight brokers and supply chain firms in the Twin Cities metro also sponsor, though less frequently than larger carriers and third-party logistics providers.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most transportation Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul account for the largest share of sponsored transportation roles in the state, driven by the metro's role as a major Midwest freight and logistics hub. Eden Prairie stands out due to C.H. Robinson's global headquarters. Bloomington and Eagan host distribution and cargo operations near Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, making them secondary concentrations. Rochester and Duluth have smaller but active transportation employment markets with occasional sponsorship activity.
What types of transportation roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Minnesota?
Roles requiring specialized education or technical expertise are most commonly sponsored. These include supply chain analysts, logistics engineers, transportation planners, operations managers, and data analysts supporting freight networks. Positions requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in logistics, engineering, or a related field typically qualify under EB-2 or EB-3 categories. General driver and warehouse roles are rarely sponsored for Green Cards, as those positions do not typically meet the specialty occupation or skilled worker thresholds required for petition approval.
How do I find transportation Green Card sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters transportation roles in Minnesota by visa sponsorship type, including Green Card. Rather than sorting through postings that don't disclose sponsorship, Migrate Mate surfaces positions where employers have a documented history of sponsoring international workers. Filtering by the Transportation and Logistics category alongside the Minnesota location gives you a focused list of relevant opportunities without the guesswork.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in Minnesota's transportation sector?
Minnesota does not impose state-level restrictions on employer-sponsored immigration, so federal processes under PERM labor certification govern most Green Card pathways in transportation. One practical consideration is that Minnesota's strong union presence in some transportation and freight segments can affect how employers structure sponsored roles and prevailing wage determinations. Supply chain and logistics roles at Minnesota's major freight companies tend to move through EB-3 skilled worker or EB-2 pathways, and PERM processing timelines at the federal level apply equally here as elsewhere in the country.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card transportation jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
