Purpose
Responsible for overseeing Press room operations across assigned shifts to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role provides leadership and operational coordination for press room personnel, manages daily workforce allocation, ensures compliance with company standards, and maintains production documentation and reporting requirements.
This interim leadership role supports production continuity by coordinating staffing, scheduling, training, and operational documentation while maintaining adherence to company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Press Room Supervisor is expected to oversee press room operations across assigned shifts.
- Lead a group of employees, assign work, and communicate production priorities to ensure smooth production and achievement of daily press room requirements.
- Manage daily workforce scheduling and staffing for both shifts, ensuring proper manning levels (RTO requirements) based on production demands.
- Maintain employee workforce information and shift assignments within Workday.
- Maintain and update the Press Room training matrix for both shifts, ensuring employees receive required training and certifications.
- Maintain production reporting, direct reporting sheets, and startup documentation to support shift operations and operational readiness.
- Train employees in proper procedures, job skills, and safe operation of equipment.
- Assist in machine set-ups, coordinate Quick Die Changes, and support troubleshooting of press, electrical, Tool & Die, and automation issues as required.
- Maintain quality standards including first piece and last-piece verification and perform part inspections using gauges and measurement devices.
- Diagnose equipment failures or machine jams and coordinate with maintenance or support departments when necessary.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives including scrap reduction, productivity improvements, and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure employees comply with all safety rules, company policies, and quality standards.
- Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree. Years of experience may substitute for lack of formal education.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, preferably within press operations.
Experience with progressive stamping presses and die setting preferred.
Previous leadership or team leader experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises press room operators and is responsible for shift coordination, employee assignments, training tracking, and production reporting.
