Which staffing companies in Ohio are known to sponsor F-1 OPT visas?
Several national staffing firms with Ohio offices have a track record of hiring F-1 OPT workers, including Insight Global, Staffmark, Manpower, and Aerotek, all of which maintain offices in Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. Sponsorship availability varies by role and business need, so it's worth confirming directly with each employer's HR or talent acquisition team whether OPT is accepted for a specific opening.
Which cities in Ohio have the most staffing F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for staffing F-1 OPT opportunities, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, technology employers, and a large graduate workforce from Ohio State University. Cleveland and Cincinnati also have active staffing markets tied to healthcare systems, financial services, and manufacturing. Dayton is a smaller but emerging market, particularly for staffing roles supporting defense and aerospace clients.
What types of staffing roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship in Ohio?
Roles that typically qualify include recruiting coordinator, sourcing specialist, talent acquisition analyst, workforce planning analyst, and account management positions within staffing firms. These positions generally require a degree in human resources, business, psychology, or a related field, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard relevant to OPT STEM or standard OPT eligibility. Generalist or purely administrative roles are less likely to qualify.
How do I find staffing F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, including F-1 OPT, and by state, so you can search directly for staffing roles in Ohio without sorting through listings that don't sponsor. Migrate Mate also surfaces employer sponsorship history, which is particularly useful in the staffing industry where OPT acceptance can vary significantly between firms and even between offices of the same company.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations F-1 OPT holders should know before applying to staffing jobs?
Ohio does not impose additional state-level work authorization requirements beyond federal OPT rules, but F-1 students should confirm their OPT authorization start date aligns with any offered start date, since staffing firms often need placements to begin quickly. OPT STEM extension eligibility also matters here: if a role is placed at a qualifying STEM employer client site, students should discuss whether that arrangement supports a future STEM OPT extension with their DSO.
